About Jo
Jo is the founder of yoga school ‘Return to the Self’ and has co-tutored over 10 Yoga Teacher Trainings as part of Yogafirst for 4 years alongside her mentor Peewee. Her experience is rooted in her 20 years as an ashtanga student and she has studied with senior teachers worldwide including Sharath Jois, Richard Freeman and her current teacher, founder of Ashtanga Yoga Dubai, Nea Ferrier. Jo is passionate about yoga, which has brought huge abundance to her life including 2 (active!) young children.

Jo’s approach to yoga is inclusive, friendly, flexible, light and explorative with intellectual depth, tremendous creativity and reverence. Jo offers classes and trainings in dynamic and restorative asana styles, chanting, pranayama (breath work) and meditation. After practicing yoga throughout pregnancy, Jo now teaches prenatal yoga and is the director of a Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training in it’s 3rd year.

Jo is a devoted student of Uma Dinsmore-Tuli’s Womb Yoga, an approach connecting women to their intuitive flow and inner teacher by reconnecting to their womb cycles. In the new era of ‘householder yoga’ the voice and body of a woman in yoga is powerful. We are now writing a new page in the history of yoga with the female body and spirit, working alongside and reigniting the stories of bhakti and tantra practice. We find ourselves at a point in history where the divine feminine is a voice that needs to be listened to!

By opening up the pathways through yoga practice in whatever form is most resonant, we reawaken our lives, are guided towards greater abundance and return to the immense love and light of our true nature.
